About Peter Meehan OAM
Peter Meehan is a journalist, broadcaster, private pilot and former state and national representative track and road racing cyclist who came to prominence in Melbourne during the 1980s and 1990s as breakfast radio host on KZFM (now Gold FM.) He joined 3AW Melbourne in 1993 and remained with the current affairs talk station for five years as a presenter and program consultant.
Today, he runs Peter Meehan Corporate Communications and conducts media training and personal presentation skills training programs for many large and small corporate clients.
Peter also acts as master of ceremonies for corporate award presentation functions and major corporate events across Australia.
SQNLDR Peter Meehan (Ret’d) Specialist Reserve, conducted media management for the Australian Defence Force and served during the International Peacekeeping Force East Timor (InterFET) period as a Public Affairs Officer for Army's Black Hawk operations in East Timor during 1999.
He managed media affairs for the Army’s 5th Aviation Regiment Black Hawk helicoptor operations during the Sydney Olympics.
As a media contractor, Peter provides media training, media awareness and personal presentation skills training for many of Australia’s largest corporate companies.
His corporate event facilitation skills are well documented and his ability to capture the communication needs of each client is exemplary.
Peter has a keen understanding of the motivational needs of those who attend his communication training presentations.
In the 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours and Awards, Peter Meehan was awarded a OAM – the Order of Australia Medal.
